Laser Cutting

Laser cutting is a non-contact form of cutting that uses a focused laser beam to cut cleanly a variety of plastic/acrylic materials. We offer laser cutting and laser profiling services using our laser cutting machinery .

Laser cutting offers ther following key benefits:

  • quick and effcient cutting
  • high-quality cut finish
  • low-cost set ups & no tooling costs
  • highly intricate cut patterns can be achieved
  • the ability to change component designs easily
  • CNC Routing

Display Developments has invested heavily in its machining facilities, from basic panel cutting, turning and milling, to state of the art CNC routing and drilling. Our experienced personnel and jig design capabilities ensure that all items are manufactured to consistently high standards and exacting tolerances.

    Polishing

To meet the requirements of our clients and to give a high quality finish to end products, the majority of items made by Display Developments go through a polishing process. This is traditionally carried out by means of power buffing or flame polishing. Polishing methods include:

    • Diamond Edge polishing (High gloss or matt finish)
    • Flame polishing
    • CNC polishing

    Line Bending

Plastic bending can be accomplished using several techniques.Line bending is an effcient process for creating one or more tight radius bends in most formable sheet acrylic.

The main benefits of line bending are:

  • straight bends are produced very effciently
  • set up costs are low
  • no tooling is involved
  • Most applications for line bending tend to focus on single or double parallel bends to create objects such as rectangular covers and equipment housings. However, some fairly complex forms can be manufactured using this technique.

    Gluing

Assembly is critical to the manufacturing process and often includes cementing or bonding (or in the case of engineering plastics, hot air welding). Our own on-going research programme into cements, adhesives and how best to apply them, ensures that we are continually leading the way in this field.

    Assembly

Display Developments offer a 'one stop shop' approach to display fabrication and forming. We assemble many metal and wooden components into both our TRIM display range and bespoke projects. These items may include, but are not limited to:

    • MDF Plinths and bases
    • Wheels and castors
    • Locks
    • Hinges
    • Runners etc.

In addition to this, we are able to produce complex display items in flat pack form to ensure safe and cost effective shipping of product for on site assembly. Using Tappex™ technology, we are able to mechanically fix items without using adhesives and cements.
